T20 World Cup 2021 Semifinals, Will Pakistan Become Champion

Pakistan will face Australia and England to face New Zealand.

The first semifinal will be played between England and New Zealand on November 10 in Abu Dhabi, while 2nd will be played between Pakistan and Australia on November 11 in Dubai.

Finally, four teams made their way into the semifinals Pakistan, New Zealand, England, and Australia out of 12 teams in the main draw in UAE.

The first semifinal will be played between England and New Zealand on November 10 in Abu Dhabi, while 2nd will be played between Pakistan and Australia on November 11 in Dubai.

After winning from Scotland, Pakistan became the only undefeated team in the tournament while England topped Group 1 with 4 wins and 1 defeat from South Africa.

In Group 2, Pakistan beat India in its first game first time in world cup history, then New Zealand, Afghanistan, Namibia, and Scotland become the first team to reach the last four while England also managed to top Group 1 after one defeat against South Africa.

Pakistan will face Australia in the semifinal in Dubai on Thursday, 11 November day after the England contest with New Zealand in Abu Dhabi, with winners locking horns in the Dubai final next Sunday.

Previously, Pakistan played against Australia in the semifinals in back 2010 in St. Lucia. In that match, Australia was playing under the captaincy of Michael Clarke while Pakistan was playing under Shahid Afridi.

Australia won the toss and let Pakistan bat first. The Akmal brothers played tremendous innings, Kamran Akmal blasted 50 off 34 with help of 2 great sixes and 6 fours while Umer Akmal played till the end of the innings and helped Pakistan to reach a milestone of 191 with his 56 off 35 not out runs having smashed 4 huge sixes and 2 fours.

It was a daunting run chase for Australia and things looked bleaker when David Warner got out on Duck on the ball of Muhammad Amir giving a catch to Umer.

Australian batting was in great trouble. They could score only 64 runs losing 4 wickets in 9 overs. David Hussey gave a catch to bowler Abdur Rehman when a leading edge popped back to the bowler. Mike Hussey came to bat when Australia was 105/5. Australia was in huge trouble when the required score was 87 from just 45 balls.

But Mike Hussey played tremendous innings against Pakistan's bowling attack. He scored 60 out of 24 balls, hitting back-to-back sixes to Pakistani spinner Saeed Ajmal, who was so effective in death overs, in his final over. He showed his class and memorably completed the victory.

Now both teams are again facing each other in the finals in Dubai. Both teams have displayed class in their group matches. Pakistan is undefeated so far while Australia lost only match against England. Now everyone is waiting overwhelmingly whether Australia will repeat the history of 2010 or Pakistan will rewrite it as it did with India's match. It is also interesting that Pakistan hasn't defeated Australia in knockout stages in both the 50 over world cup and T20.

Pakistan first time defeated India in 13 attempts in any format of  WC matches. Pakistan collected victory with 10 wickets. India could not qualify in the semifinals. India lost their matches against Pakistan and New Zealand.

Pakistan played its matches in the very best manner. The whole team showed consistency in all formats, batting, bowling, and fielding. 40-year-old Shoib Malik and M. Asif showed their class and consistency in the middle order.  Muhammad Rizwan and Cap. Baber Azam are playing very well at the opening position. Cap. Baber Azam is leading the tournament with the most runs. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Hassan Ali, and Haris Rauf have proved their skills in fast bowling destroying opponents very precisely. Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim are grabbing attention in spin bowling. Muhammad Hafeez is quite good at batting and bowling. He didn't bowl a single ball yet. He is reserved 6th bowler in the team but in batting, he also has blasted opponents.

Keeping given Pakistan's performance in T20 WC, the people of Pakistan are hoping for winning of Pakistani team in the semifinal and final matches. But before hoping that, Pakistan must keep the following points into consideration.

Unbeaten Australia

As told earlier, Australia is unbeaten in knockouts against Pakistan so far. Pakistan only once got a chance of winning in a knockout was in 2010 when Pakistan messed up 191 runs target for Australia, but Mike Hussey snatched that chance from Pakistan with his classy hits against Pakistan bowling attack.

So far Australian team is appearing light to some extent but one must not forget that Australia's cricket is more like Germany of football. Neither team in world cups can be taken lightly despite their form or how stronger oppositions are.

Record Against England

You can guarantee nothing against England, as Pakistan's poor record in the T20 format is evident against England. 21 T20s have been played between both teams but Pakistan won only 6 matches. A disappointing win percentage of 32.5 is the reason for not cueing confetti yet.

Peaking too Early

It happened with many teams that hit the ground running but tail off in their campaign. Pakistan has played impressive cricket so far but it will be all in vain if they fail to keep the same consistency in semis that are next to or final after that.

Let's hope for the best yet to come in the game.
